OXYPAS Safety Footwear has all the features of the non-safety range including all round protection and wearer comfort. Additionally, this range also features steel toe-caps to EN345 (200 Joules) being an essential part of a worker’s Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). They are tough, durable and re-enforced with different materials in order to protect your foot from hazards of the workplace. These boots and shoes are made of leather or rubber and often have steel plates inserted not only over the tip of the foot, but in the centre of the sole to prevent painful puncture from below. One will find most companies involved in physical labour have to conform to occupational heath and safety standards and often to insurance specifications too – there require the wearing of closed and steel-toed boots. Most of the time, the shoes themselves are regulated through a strict quality measurement (such as the EN345) in order to ensure the highest safety level. Relevant classifications for Personal protective Equipment:EN345 (200 Joules) – All safety footwear, regardless of style, should have steel toe-caps conforming to EN345 (200 Joules). This means the steel toe-cap will withstand the impact of 20kg in weight falling on to the toes from a height of 10.2 metres. This standard also relates to compression protection corresponding to approximately 1.5 tonnes resting on the toe area.
